Characteristics and applications of Dioctyl adipate/DOA
Characteristics
Excellent low-temperature performance
DOA maintains the flexibility and ductility of the material at low temperatures, significantly lowering the glass transition temperature of the polymer and making it suitable for plastics used in cold environments, such as frozen food packaging film and outdoor plumbing .
Chemical Stability and Oil Resistance
DOA shows good resistance to grease, chemicals and moisture, making it suitable for cable insulation, automotive hoses and other scenarios that require long-term exposure to chemical media.
Superior processing performance
Reduces the melt viscosity of polymers and improves processing efficiency;
Gives products good lubricity and feel, reducing friction during processing;
Low initial viscosity and high stability in plasticizing paste.
Safety and low toxicity
The oral LD50 for rats is 9100 mg/kg, which belongs to the category of slightly toxic substances;
Only slight irritation to skin and eyes, can be used in food packaging materials (such as cling film).
Light and heat stability and weather resistance
DOA can improve the light and heat resistance of the products and reduce the degradation caused by UV rays or high temperature, which is suitable for outdoor films and coated fabrics.
Application Areas
PVC products
Cold-resistant films: Used in conjunction with DOP and other plasticizers for agricultural films, frozen food packaging films, etc.
Artificial leather and plates: Improvement of low-temperature flexibility, enhancement of surface lubrication and water resistance.
Wire and cable: Used as a plasticizer for the insulation layer to provide oil resistance and electrical insulation properties.
Synthetic Rubber and Resin
As a low-temperature plasticizer for synthetic rubber (e.g., nitrile rubber), to enhance the low-temperature performance of elastomers.
Used for plasticizing resins such as nitrocellulose and ethyl cellulose.
Industrial & consumer products
Automotive components: coatings for hoses, seals and interiors to enhance chemical resistance and flexibility.
Coated fabrics: such as synthetic leather and textiles, to improve oil resistance and durability.
Adhesives and inks: to improve flexibility and adhesion.
Environmental Protection and Compliance
DOA complies with a number of international safety standards (e.g. REACH, TSCA) and is used in the electrical and electronics industry for the production of environmentally friendly materials.
